About Garigekhan Estate

The Garigekhan Estate within the eponymous cluster is the birthplace of Kelachandra Coffee.

Situated adjacent to the Muthodi Sanctuary range of the Bhadra Tiger Reserve, the plantation was once owned by Mr. D. A. Graham, developed into an estate in 1976, and taken over by Kelachandra Coffee in 2002.

Garigekhan was named by Mr. D. A Graham – when he first arrived on the estate, he was welcomed by two large ‘Garige’ or Red Cedar trees.

With the recent acquisition of RR Plantation, Dongekhan Estate, and Kithlekhan Estate, the Garigekhan cluster is home to both Kelachandra Coffee’s history and legacy, as well as our commitment to the practice of Indian shade-grown coffee that exists in harmony with nature.
