About Kumergode Estates
Kumergode, established in the late 1800’s, was purchased in 1906 from Col. H. B. Sanderson, C.I.E., retired, by Messrs. St. John and Campbell Hunt, is well known for its gentle slopes, and fertile soil, with elevations ranging from 3100 feet to 3700 feet above MSL. These features allow the Kumergode and Jagirmane Estates to consistently produce high-quality coffee every year.
With the Kumergode cluster dating back over a century, we at Kelachandra Coffee work hard to live by the farm-to-cup philosophy. As we establish our regional office in this cluster, it will be the birthplace of the processes – from growing and harvesting to processing, cupping, and packaging – that will help us to produce quality and consistency in every cup. At just fifteen kilometres from the nearest national highway, this cluster offers access to neighbouring dry mills, and to the seaport in Mangalore, Karnataka.
The Arabica coffees from this cluster showcase notes of chocolate, caramel, and lemongrass, and are medium-bodied.
